6. Setup Messenger Webhook

Webhook is a server connection point. Since WcBot server is a backend service that the Facebook App will send the message to and get the responses from.

Subscription Verify Token

The Subscription Verify Token is the unique value for every WcBot customer. If you just follow the steps mentioned in last chapter. You should have that in Notepad. You can click here to go to Messenger Webhook section.

Otherwise please continue next section to obtain the Verify Token.

Obtain Verify Token

Go to your WordPress site and login as Admin. Then go to WcBot Settings, as below:

Thus WcBot settings appears. You will see the Subscription Verify Token value. Copy & paste the Verify Token to Notepad, as below:

Messenger Webhook

You'll need to input the Subscription Verify Token into Facebook App webhook. The steps are mentioned in following sections.

Facebook Developer Portal

Login to Facebook Developer Portal then click 'Messenger':

Setup the webbook

Go to the 'Webhooks' section as below:

Input the values and verify as below:

WcBot provides permanent servers. Input below value into the Callback URL: https://0xnafk3kpb.execute-api.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/dev/webhookfb

If no error, the screen will be back to Webhooks screen. Otherwise it shows the red icon. When you locate the mouse cursor over the red icon, it will show the error message. If you can't solve the error, please go to support chapter to contact our support.

Select Page Subscription

This is to specify which Facebook Page to subscribe to this webhook. Simply click 'Select a Page' button and select the Facebook Page you've created in chapter 2, as below:

Finally, click the 'Subscribe' button:
